Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
I think that all this (which I know is complete conjecture and Cresswell would play injured if he could) it highlights how small our squad is, like we didn't know already eh?

Still in the FA cup (which I think we will throw almost because it's the least money gained and fuck the supporters who have been dreaming of silverware for 40 years), Europe and a place that qualifies us for Europe next season with a very stretched squad and games coming thick and fast.

Last season it seemed like the curse of important players getting injured had been lifted but are we going to get lucky twice? Ogbonna out for the season when he was in the form of his life for example.

I'm going to preach to the converted I know, but why the fuck didn't they get someone in the January window. My only conclusion is that we are slowly getting asset striped before they sell our club when they don't have to share the proceeds with the mugs who paid for the stadium (you and me, the stupid people who pay taxes).
.
So whoever buys the club will buy a hundred and ten million debt (almost exactly what the debt was when they took over) and I guess that they are going to sell the crown jewel, Rice, and trouser that too before they hopefully fuck off out of our lives.

They're achieved their ultimate goal this season which seems to be us not getting relegated so why pay more?

I hope that I am being paranoid (on WHO? never) and most of this ever co

Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
I think the biggest potential problem is at RB, with Coufal, Fredericks (obviously) and Ashby all injured.

Of course this also means Johnson cannot go to LB if Cresswell gets injured. Still, in Moyes we trust.

You've got Ben Davies or sessegnon son

Longelo comes in. Simples.

Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
Not at left back, which is where he will have to go if Cresswell is injured. The point is one of our two best right backs will be out and the other will have to play out of position.

“If it’s while Coufal is out then…well then we’re fucked.”

Except that Johnson has been far superior to Coufal all season.

Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
If it’s while Coufal is out then…well then we’re fucked. But best of a bad lot:

Fabianski

Fredericks
Zouma
Dawson
Johnson

Rice
Soucek
Fornals

Benrahma
Lanzini

Bowen

There’s no way we should entertain the idea of Masuaku in a back 4, and without Cresswell or Ogbonna I’d be equally concerned about the left side even with a 3/5. Johnson at centre-half seems to have become a nailed-on solution for some without much if any evidence it’s a good idea. So as shit as Fredericks is, in he goes. Fornals did a job yesterday but Cresswell offers a degree of security which Diop…well, yeah.

I think we’re better with 10 than Fredericks starting in either position.

Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
Well the choice will be which of Johnson and Fredericks do you place in which full back position seen as they are the only two fit full backs. Are we worse with Johnson RB and Fred LB, or the other way round?

Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
It's placing a lot on Ben's shoulders playing him at left back isn't it?

I love the kid but when he's played there before he hasn't looked too special. It's a big ask of a kid to play him at left or right back, get up the field and deliver a cross into the box. His versatility could actually be to his detriment?

Still, glad that you have so much faith in him, particularly if Benrahma plays in front of him as I love his mazzy runs but he loses the ball A LOT.

352, with Johnson as the LCB.

Or 4312 with Johnson as LB.

The obvious flaw in your line up is you have picked Antonio

Did you read the question? ;-)

Trundle being a prick again I see.

Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
Bowen would go up top if Antonio was out, as he has before.

Ben Johnson would cover at LB, providing either Coufal or Fredericks was fit to play RB. If not, I guess Longelo would finally get a chance at LB.

I'd line up the new left back and new striker we should have got over a year ago, when I kept on being told IN MOYES WE TRUST.

Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
Moyes doesnt seem to trust the kids so i would expect Stuart Pearce to cover at left back and Kevin Nolan to come in as a false 9.

Darby_ 5:51 Mon Feb 28
Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
For Cressers, 5-3-2 with three centrebacks.

For Micky, Bowen, Vlasic or Yarmo presumably.

Johnson 5:51 Mon Feb 28
Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
Masuaku is out for the season I think

El Scorchio 5:46 Mon Feb 28
Re: How would we line up if Cressy and Antonio got injured?
With Coufal and Masuaku out already it becomes very tricky at full back. It seems to always be the case at WHU that injuries wipe out one specific area of the team at a time. The fullbacks have all been in the wars this season. Every single one of the five of them has missed time IIRC.

I think you'd have to go Johnson LB Fredericks RB unless you promote one of the youth players. Luckily whoever it is will have Zouma and Dawson alongside them. I don't think the answer is to use Diop or Dawson as a full back.

Antonio is simpler- Bowen goes up top and Vlasic or Benrahma would start where Bowen would do.
